HUMANIMAL – Mensch – Seele – Tier

Vom 20. Juni bis 2. Juli werden Schloss & Zoo Hoyerswerda zur Kunstzone. Denn dann findet das 12. Internationale Bildhauersymposium statt. Diesmal mit dabei sind Künstlern, die aus Armenien, Moldawien, Russland und Deutschland stammen. Die fünf Bildhauer sind von einer sechsköpfigen Jury aus mehr als 25 Bewerbungen ausgewählt worden.

In diesem Jahr rankt sich alles um das Thema „HUMANIMAL – Mensch – Seele – Tier“. Die Organisatoren um Schlossherrin Kerstin Noack haben das Motto in Anlehnung an den 60. Zoo-Geburtstag und den langjährigen künstlerischen Leiter der Symposien, Jürgen von Woyski, gesetzt, der in diesem Jahr seinen 90. Geburtstag gefeiert hätte.

Marcel Müller war einer der Bildhauer, die am 11. Symposium im Jahr 2016 aktiv teilgenommen haben. Diesmal steht er dem Schloss gemeinsam mit Martina Rohrmoser-Mueller bei der Projektkoordination zur Seite.  „Wir werden den Künstlern unter die Arme greifen“, sagt der Groß Särchener. Denn beim Drehen oder Anheben der massiven Sandsteine oder Holzstämme sind schwere Technik und Erfahrung gefragt. Bis zu einer Tonne wiegen die Steinblöcke, aus denen die Künstler innerhalb von nur elf Tagen Kunstwerke erschaffen.  An die besondere Atmosphäre beim Arbeiten im Zoo kann sich Marcel Müller noch gut erinnern. Nun stehen die Künstler erstmals als Gruppe zusammen. Während des Symposiums wird die ehemalige Kamelanlage zu ihrem Freiluftatelier und Besucher können den Bildhauern über die Schultern schauen.

Übrigens sind erstmals auch Nachwuchskünstler vom Hoyerswerdaer Foucault-Gymnasiums und Auszubildende von der Sächsischen Steinmetzschule in Demitz-Thumitz mit dabei.

From 20 June to 2 July Schloss & Zoo Hoyerswerda will become an art zone. Because then the 12th International Sculpture Symposium will take place. This time there will be artists from Armenia, Moldova, Russia and Germany. The five sculptors have been selected by a six-member jury from more than 25 applications.

This year, everything revolves around the theme „HUMANIMAL – Human – Soul – Animal“. The organizers around Kerstin Noack have set the motto on the basis of the 60th birthday of the zoo and the long-standing artistic director of the symposia, Jürgen von Woyski, who would have celebrated his 90th birthday this year.

Marcel Müller was one of the sculptors who actively participated in the 11th symposium in 2016. This time, together with Martina Rohrmoser-Mueller, he is assisting the castle in project coordination.  „We will help the artists“, says the artist from Groß Särchener. Because heavy technology and experience are required when turning or lifting the solid sandstones or logs. The stone blocks weigh up to one ton, and the artists can create works of art from them in just eleven days.  Marcel Müller still remembers the special atmosphere when working in the zoo. Now, for the first time, the artists stand together as a group. During the symposium, the ex-camel area will become an open-air studio and visitors will be able to look over the sculptors‘ shoulders.

By the way, young artists from the Foucault High School in Hoyerswerda and trainees from the Saxon Stonemason School in Demitz-Thumitz will also be there for the first time.
